Gamesys Bingo Sites
Gamesys was founded by Noel Hayden and a group of developers in 2001 and has developed into one of the top gaming software providers around. Gamesys Limited is the parent of a group of companies including Profitable Play Limited, Entertaining Play Limited and Nozee Limited which operate a number of online casinos and bingo sites (such as those listed below) and though the corporate head office is based in London most of their operations are based in Gibraltar and licensed and regulated there.
Their growth in the industry has been steady rather than spectacular but we see that as a positive thing as they have never over-stretched. And that’s not to say they are not doing fantastically well: their group wagering topped £4bn in 2012! As such they clearly have the financial clout to not only invest in their technology and games, but to put up loads of cash for jackpots, bonuses and offers, all of which are readily apparent on their bingo sites.
Bingo Games
Gamesys bingo sites have access to a fine range of bingo games including the usual 90 ball and 75 ball versions you will find in most places, but also the less common 80 ball variety. They also have a couple of more innovative bingo products including their Snap! game in which you must match playing cards rather than balls in order to win.
Not all of the bingo sites that use Gamesys software offer all the bingo options (some forego the chance to offer the 80 ball games for instance) and some have additional games unique to them. But whichever of the Gamesys bingo games you encounter, you will find smooth gameplay, nice looks and interfaces that require no special knowledge or skills – in other words, they are dead easy to play.
Additionally, Gamesys offers speed bingo, loads of bonus bingo games and Bingo Royale – which incorporates two extra jackpots, one to be shared between all the players and one for hitting house within a certain number of balls. In short, more than you’ll find at your average bingo site.
Side Games
Gamesys certainly pull out all the stops when it comes to their bingo offerings, and they certainly don’t hold back when it comes to their side games either. While the specific games will vary from site to site, you will generally find all the usual casino table games available including variants of blackjack and roulette alongside baccarat and video poker.
The have a good range of slots too, both of the classic variety and more modern ones with more complexity, better features and bigger prizes. Whilst the Gamesys network is not as big as those of some of their rivals (notably Virtue Fusion and Microgaming), they do still have some progressive jackpot slots with top prizes of around the £1m mark, which is clearly not to be sniffed at. Some of our favourites include Mystic Meg (where you can win up to 10,000 times your coin size) and Deal or No Deal, where you try to beat the banker in order to line your pockets with his cash!
Software Features
Gamesys slots have the useful feature of being able to play in demo mode so you can check out if you like them before investing your own cash. In terms of bingo games, you will have the ability to pre-buy tickets for the games you don’t want to miss out on and – as you would expect – automatic claims come as standard. Thankfully you can opt to turn off the sound effects and/or caller’s voice during bingo games (sometimes peace and quiet is just what you need, right?).
For those who fancy sitting down for a session of bingo rather than running the risk of blowing your funds on the first game or two, the session bingo available at some of the Gamesys-powered bingo sites will be mightily enticing. There you will have the opportunity to pay once for a session of bingo (rather than by the game) which will usually last for an hour, which not only offers decent savings, but let’s you settle down and relax with a nice cuppa or a glass of wine while you enjoy your favourite bingo games.
Because sites utilising software from Gamesys are also operated by them (or at least their subsidiary companies), they are well-placed to create games that fit in with the themes of their sites. They are also able to sort out any technical issues swiftly, not that we’ve ever found any during our testing.
Strangely, for a company built on cutting edge technology, Gamesys bingo sites do not offer mobile versions (at the time of writing), but it is surely just a matter of time before this is sorted out.
Networked Promotions
Gamesys sites have a reasonable rather than mind-blowing number of decent networked promotions of which their Super Links bingo promo is perhaps their best, offering a guaranteed £20,000 in bingo prizes every day on 90 ball bingo games, £16,000 of which is up for grabs from 6pm onwards.
With BOGOF bingo, free bingo games available to play every day and reload bonuses available on many of their sites, Gamesys are starting to increase the frequency and generosity of their offers. But they vary a good deal from site to site so it is worth check out some of the abovementioned sites to see what’s available at the moment.
Gamesys Verdict
Gamesys has made great strides in terms of the quality of its bingo software in recent years and we feel that upward trajectory is set to continue for the foreseeable future. While there is no faulting the quality of their games, we would like to see a few bigger and better promotions being rolled out across the network, but there are signs this is starting to happen so fingers crossed that will be the case in the coming months. The fact they don’t offer mobile-compatible versions of their bingo sites is a disappointment, but we expect them to rectify this situation in due course.
Overall we think Gamesys bingo sites are very fine places to play with a fine range of (especially bingo) games and well-designed interfaces. For fun, fair and safe bingo, Gamesys sites tick all the boxes.
